Corvette Touring, I can see it already.

Yep, I’m fine with it. I’d rather have enviable ergonomics which will make for much nicer day to day liveability.

I feel like GM said this a while ago and people are still arguing it.

If GM doesn’t engineer a manual gearbox for it, some intrepid heroes will somehow squeeze one in from a German car in a few years.

I wonder what the price of an optional manual would have to be to make 15% take rate profitable?
If a 7- speed manual was a $5000 option in t he C8 , would enough people still buy it to make money for Chevrolet? Maybe it has to be $10,000??
We’ll probably never know, but if I’m spending $70k-$80k on a car, only ~ $5 k-$7k more for a manual would be worth it to me .

*shrugs in don’t want one anyway*
Think I’ll get away with bringing one of these home in my luggage?

Problem is that the number of people who would buy it over the automatic would shrink every time you’d raise the price, so while you might get that 15% take rate if you priced them the same, by the time you raise the price to $5000, maybe you only have 5% and if you have to go up to $10000, then maybe you are only getting 2%. It simply might not be possible to raise the price enough to cover the costs, unless you have a few whales willing to spend millions to fun the entire development (and I assume they’d just go buy a manual Porsche (I think they still make those?) or something).
